NOTE: I made this video when I still had some "bass head" in me, and that's why I put in a subwoofer that costs half the cost of the whole system. While this would still kill the Bose Lifestyle 48 in sound quality, you could get much better overall sound if you got something like this instead: www.youtube.com But anyway, I know some people like Bose's surround systems for their speaker's small size. And if you think a system that has 4.5 inch tall speakers, and you are okay with "good enough sound," then the Lifestyle 48 may be for you. BUT, if you want small speakers with MASSIVE performance, but are a couple inches bigger, then check out this system. Anyway, here are a few major flaws with the Lifestyle 48. -The Lifestyle 48 has a regular progressive-scan DVD player, which is ridiculous for a 00 system. And, even if you wanted to add a Blu-Ray player to the Bose Lifestyle 48, you wouldn't be able to run its audio through the Bose's Lifestyle 48's HDMI inputs, for they only pass through video. This means you'd need either a TOSLINK or Coaxial audio cable to get the Blu-Ray's audio to the Lifestyle 48. Not only would this prevent you from hearing your Blu-Ray disc's full sound quality potential, as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD can ONLY be passed through HDMI, it would also mean you have another cable to deal with, which Bose claims their systems are supposed to reduce (which they don't). -The Lifestyle 48 has 5.1 surround sound, and Bose's excuse for not having it is that ...
